Hungarian Beef Goulash recipe (Meat)

YOU'LL NEED
Yield: 8 servings

4 lb lean beef sirloin
700 ml beef stock
oz butter
1   chopped onion
1   chopped tomato
1   diced green pepper
2 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons poppy seeds
2 tablespoons Hungarian sweet paprika
1/3 cups dry red wine
1 cup water
1 lb egg noodles
4 tablespoons sour cream

Instructions

Melt the butter or margarine in a large saucepan over a low heat. Add the onion, tomato and green pepper and saute for 5 minutes. Add the beef, beef stock, flour, poppy seeds, paprika and red wine. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add the water, cover, and simmer for 90 minutes. While the goulash simmers, cook the egg noodles in a large pan of boiling water. Drain well. Serve the goulash on a bed of noodles, and drizzle the cream over the dish.
