Easy Cheese Fondue recipe (Main Dish)


¾ lb Gruyere cheese
½ lb Emmenthal cheese
6 oz Apenzeller cheese
1   garlic clove
2 cups white wine
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 tablespoons Kirsch
1 teaspoon cornstarch
½ teaspoons paprika
½ teaspoons nutmeg

Rub garlic inside the fondue pot then discard. Pour the white wine and lemon juice into the pot and turn on the burner. Let the wine and lemon juice warm up without boiling. Reduce heat and add the shredded cheese, one handful at a time. With a wooden spoon, mix well and stir regularly. Add remaining ingredients. Add pepper to taste.
If the mixture is too hard, add warm wine. If the mixture is too soft, add cheese. Dip bite size pieces of bread or steamed vegetables.
